Thijs Poelert

Thijs specializes in tax law, with a strong emphasis on Dutch corporate, withholding and other income taxes in a cross-border context. His clientele predominantly consists of Dutch and international businesses that require assistance on a broad variety of tax matters, including (M&A, real estate or financing) transactions, corporate or debt restructurings, insolvency procedures and management incentive schemes. Thijs also regularly advises on VAT and Dutch wage tax issues.

In 2015, Thijs obtained his Master’s degree (European and international tax law) from the University of Amsterdam and joined both the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB) and the Dutch Bar Association (admitted to the Amsterdam bar in August 2015) in the same year. After having worked for over 6,5 years as a tax adviser/attorney-at-law at several Dutch top-tier law firms (Houthoff, Loyens & Loeff and NautaDutilh), Thijs joined vanOlde as a tax adviser in December 2021.
